![]() ![]() José Sibaja is one of the most highly acclaimed Costa Rican trumpet players of his generation, with worldwide audiences and broadcast media in the Classical, Latin, Jazz, and Pop genres. Her debut recording includes Bossa Nova, Mexican traditional song, opera, musical theater, and tango. Abrego’s recordings include “Alma Mía” and “Canción Mexicana” by Vientos del Sur Productions. She develops the program Sharing Notes – an academic exchange program between Mexico and the US, for musicians with a passion for teaching and interest in community work – offering master classes, lectures, and concerts to the students in Mexico to inspire them in their musical growth, using music as an instrument to promote values such as discipline and solidarity, but also to be part of a social project where music, culture, language, and inspiration is promoted. Abrego is the founder and Executive Director of the Baja Musical Arts Initiative, a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the lives of children and young adults in NYC and Mexico through musical education and performances. ![]() Abrego has performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center’s Merking Hall, at the World Music Panama Festival, The Festival Culturel International de Musique Symphonique in Algeria, and The Gran Teatro Nacional of Perú. She has performed leading operatic roles including Norina in Don Pasquale, Gilda in Rigoletto, Violetta in La Traviata, Manon in Manon, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, María in María de Buenos Aires, and many more. Her orchestral collaborations include the Seattle Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, Aguascalientes Symphony, and countless others. She has performed in stages around the world with a diverse repertoire including opera, solo works, and popular folk music. Abrego is considered one of México’s most outstanding and versatile sopranos. An enthusiastic proponent of innovating the concert experience, his exciting education, classical, and pops concerts are performed by orchestras across the United States.Īs a producer, composer, and arranger, Lopez-Yañez’s work can be heard on numerous albums including the UNESCO benefit album, Action Moves People United, and children’s music albums including The Spaceship that Fell in My Backyard, winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Hollywood Music in Media Awards, and Family Choice Awards, and Kokowanda Bay, Global Media Award and Parents’ Choice Award-winner.
